William Steinwedel, Esq.


Supervising Attorney, Foreclosure Legal Assistance Project

William Steinwedel is a Supervising Attorney with Maryland Legal Aid's Foreclosure Legal Assistance Project. He specializes in representing clients in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy, as well as foreclosure mediations, with a focus on helping people save their homes. William also handles expungements and participates in Legal Aid outreach programs, such as Lawyer in the Library. He graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in 2010 and holds a degree from Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland, earned in 2007. His previous experience includes working as an associate at Melehy and Associates LLC, where he practiced bankruptcy, family, and employment law, and as an associate at Bender and Radcliffe, P.A., a medical collections firm. William has been an Enrolled Agent with the IRS since January 2017 and volunteers with Baltimore CASH during tax season to prepare tax returns for low-income communities. He is a past president of the Consumer Bankruptcy Section of the Maryland State Bar Association and a recipient of the Alan J. Belsky Award for his contributions to the section. Currently, William serves as co-chair of the Ocean City Committee for the Consumer Bankruptcy Section and will be moderating their program this year.
