Jessica Sysak is the Chief Human Resources Officer at Maryland Legal Aid. Jessica has a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Michigan and an M.S. in Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus. She is an active member of The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and holds the SHRM-SCP certification, which designates her as a Senior Certified Human Resources Professional. Jessica has over 15 years of experience in the human resources (HR) field with most of the time spent in the international nonprofit sector leading strategic human resources initiatives, including start-up of new offices, development of organization-wide talent acquisition and performance management systems and global salary scales. Her work is inspired by her time as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Armenia. Jessica feels extremely passionate about working for organizations invested in community development and systems change
