Vicki Schultz returned to Maryland Legal Aid as its new Executive Director in June 2022. Vicki spent her first decade as a lawyer there. Before returning to MLA, Vicki was Associate Dean for Administration at the University of Baltimore School of Law. During the Obama Administration, Vicki served as a Deputy Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Rights Division at the Department of Justice where she oversaw fair housing and fair lending enforcement. Vicki previously worked as a Senior Advisor in state government to help lead the state’s response to the mortgage crisis, handle consumer protection and key labor initiatives. She has also worked at several legal services nonprofits and in local government on community development initiatives. Vicki has volunteered in the community and has served on several boards. She currently serves as a Commissioner on the Maryland Access to Justice Commission.
