Arlene Callender is the Chief Attorney for the Cecil/Harford Office of Maryland Legal Aid. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English/Secondary Education from LaSalle University in 1986 and her law degree from Ohio Northern University, Claude W. Pettit College of Law, in 1989. Admitted to practice in Alabama (1989), the District of Columbia (1991), Virginia (1996), and Maryland (2004), she is also licensed in the U.S. District Courts for those jurisdictions. A dedicated public interest attorney, Ms. Callender has spent her entire career providing direct legal representation through Legal Aid, while also mentoring numerous legal staff and volunteers in all aspects of human rights law.
