The Equal Justice Council was formed to promote equal justice by increasing and diversifying the Legal Aid Bureau's resources, serving as its advocates and ambassadors, and educating the public about Legal Aid's programs. This private bar fundraising arm of Legal Aid has raised more than $6 million since 1997.
